What is the most important thing in life? I would say it is life itself. But what does that mean? My life now? To me, swimming in a fresh island pool under a giant waterfall is one of things that I live for. For other people, it might mean a four car garage and poodle-shaped swimming pool. But none of these are life itself. For that, I have to go to the source.
Forget the patriarchal trip and God the Father. In the beginning, there was the Mother. And there still is. Not that life is only about mothers. Life is about the future generations. Life changed for me when I had my first baby. Life was no longer just about me. To be sure, I was still important—but primarily because my daughter needs me. It is simple to understand that mothers want the best life for their child, but it is harder to understand what mothers need. I am only one in an infinite line of mothers, but I know one thing: if this planet—our fair Mother Earth—is to survive, it is up to us. Our children need her. And they are the future… So this is why I am writing this blog… |
