Big changes are coming. Are you ready?

While I personally made my escape from New York years ago, many readers may find themselves still in a major city when TSHTF (“the shit hits the fan”). So how can a survival-savvy city dweller make his or her way out to the countryside? Here are some thoughts.

Sewer travel: What would you need? Flashlights, extra batteries, galoshes, and some kind of tool to open up manholes.

Water travel (my favorite): Most major cities are built along rivers and oceans. Rather than fight it out with the other million and a half people trying to get off Manhattan, why not take an inflatable raft or kayak and go out the East or Hudson rivers?

You might also consider getting yourself a vending machine picking tool. If you know where the beverage or snack vending machines are along your escape route, or come across them by dumb luck, consider it part of your remote cache.

Can you open up a fire hydrant? Do you have a wrench that would work? Assuming that there would still be water pressure…

Restaurants and bakeries throw away perfectly edible food every day. Why fight it out at the supermarket when you can haul away bags of stale bagels from the alleyway? Perhaps you can pay a homeless person to show you where to look. Many homeless people have plenty of urban survival skills you would never have thought of.

Cities are concrete and steel canyons. If the power goes out, even on a full moon night, it will be dark at street level. I only recall seeing the moon a few times growing up in NYC. Beware ambushes.

Do you know where the industrial bridges and tunnels are and where they lead to? (These are not the ones that cars use, but the ones for trains.) During a quarantine, they may be ignored. In any case, they will be less crowded. In my opinion, the most dangerous threats to survival can be from other people.

In the coming months we will be considering other practical survival skills for the upcoming Shift. Don’t forget that there will be a vertical spiritual component to the Shift, so keep in mind that alignment within is the key. This will guide you. And, as always, Let Love Radiate without concern for results.
