How many of you know about CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire/European Council for Nuclear Research)? About the testing planned in a giant particle collider beneath the bucolic cowfields of Switzerland. Imagine humans trying to recreate the conditions of the Big Bang, in order to "better understand how the universe evolved". Now imagine what would happen if colliding particles created a black hole. Or a strangelet... (For the uninformed, that would mean a fusion chain-reaction of nuclei--of our planet--into the type of quark matter believed to be inside stars!) |

To give people some more information to work with on the Mayan calendar, this blog post introduces the sacred 13 moon calendar. Those interested in finding out more about their sign can use this helpful calendar program.
The sacred 13 moon calendar has been in use for over 5000 years as a reflection of perfect harmony, primordially followed by virtually all human cultures on this planet. The Lakota kept a 13 moon 'keya' or turtle since the turtle has 13 scales on his back. The Incan, Druids, Essene, Mayan, Polynesian, Egyptian, Chinese and several Native American tribes all used a 13 month, 28-day calendar, and many are still using it today. As an instrument of planetary peace this 13 moon calendar is based on the Dreamspell, and uses as its totems (guardians) the animals from the Mayan Zodiac. The essence of each of these spirits most closely resonates with the theme and feel of each of the 13 moons we all pass through each year on this planet as we journey around our Sun.
The uppermost point of the great circle corresponds to July 26th on the Gregorian calendar. This point is chosen as the starting point of each year of the Dreamspell calendar and the 13 moon calendar. At this time each year the brightest fixed star in our heavens, Sirius, rises in conjunction with our Sun. Long held by the ancients to be the dispenser of spiritual guidance and nurturance, it is a fitting symbol for the new year energies.

I was standing in the middle of the busy street of a big, big city with all these people running past me, busy busy busy. I was standing there in the middle of the street staring at the poster-heads baring teeth, pointing guns, knives, fists in my face. All these advertisements of death and violence. Death, both fictional and real, men clad in tights with the face of a bat, other ones asking me to remember MIAs, to be proud, be an army of one, on and on…
And then a line from an old rock-opera came to mind: "...Why are you obsessed with fighting?"
Really. Why are we obsessed with fighting? We have been breaking our heads to figure out this propensity for aggression—genes, testosterone, bad parenting, society, repressions—and if we can tame it…

Ser brasileira, como a grande maioria, é um orgulho, é saber viver com o pouco material e com o muito espiritual, é ter a alegria de viver, a força para trabalhar, fé para alcançar, ginga para dançar e o privilégio de poder surfar.
Moro num país rico em recursos naturais, como minérios, fauna e flora, principalmente na sua grande mata atlântica e amazônica , na costa é possível termos o mais profundo contato natural, principalmente no mar, com as ondas, surfando. Acredito que o surfe é algo muito além de um simples esporte é também algo espiritual, onde descer de uma onda se sente na alma, no espírito e também no corpo. É como “lavar a alma”, esquecendo de coisas desagradáveis e apenas se sentindo bem. Mas como a vida não é somente surfe, infelizmente temos que conviver com o indesejável, algo que afeta não somente surfistas, mas os cidadãos comuns: A corrupção, algo que se eu pudesse a exterminaría, pois é a partir daí que se geram todos os outros problemas, não só os sociais mais algo muito pior, os AMBIENTAIS.
