Finally...

I cried when I saw Barack Hussein Obama take the stage in Chicago tonight, come to thank the people for electing him President. I cried with joy, with relief and with hope. I felt my spirit join with those in the crowd. I felt the crowd melt—young and old, black and white, and everything in between—with a collective sense of release. Like the lost moments of the past were caught up in the present moment and turned into a possible future…

We’re not just talking about possibility here. We’re talking about reality. Our reality.

First comes release. The release is deep. Like coming out of lockdown, after years of being kept from the light, suddenly being turned free… People are going to have to get used to what this means. Take a tiger from the zoo and open her cage. You think she’s going to just walk out into the wild? I don’t think so.

Now imagine that you are that tiger. Imagine coming out of lockdown. Some of us have not even known a time when we were not in lockdown—or for that matter that we were even in lockdown! Going into the wild, you’d better start thinking about how you’re going to survive. I don’t mean nuts and berries survival. I mean human species in the 21st century survival. It’s time to get strong.

It’s time to face your fears. Fears about yourself, your pocketbook, your mortality… The game we’re playing, it’s much bigger than that.

Imagine again that you are that tiger, but the tiger is your mind. Imagine coming out of the cage of ignorance and entering the wilderness of enlightened possibility.

What does that even mean?

Remember, we’re not just talking about possibility. We’re talking about reality. And how you are going to make it—for everyone.

Enlightenment = wisdom + compassion. There has never been a better time to figure out what it means. Seriously. It's not just time for Obama, it's time for a Transcendent Nation.

P.S. One last thing, though. If your spell-checker doesn’t recognize the words 'Barack' or 'Obama', it’s time to add them.
